In September 1988, the Chinese city of Xianyang became one of Narita's twin cities. Xianyang is a center of Chinese history and is located to the north-west of Xian province.
The south side of the city stands beside the Weihe river. It has an international airport, many railroads and a highway is under construction. The spinning and electrical industries are prominent here and the largest manufacturer in China of color television picture tubes is located here.
This city was a stage of Chinese history because for eleven dynasties such as Zhou, Qin, Han, Tang, etc. It was the capital city. For this reason there are many historical sites like the burial mounds of emperors of the Han and To period.
