The three-story pagoda in front of the temple is a famous cultural property in Chiba Prefecture.

One of the oldest temples in Japan, having 1210 years of history. During the Edo period, this temple was paid homage to (commonly known as 'Shibayama Nioson') as well as Narita fudoson of Naritasan do. The famous Nioson is located at the Nio gate of the Kannonkyoji temple which was built in 781 A.D. Nioson-ten (the god) who protects us from fire and thieves and the main god, Juichimen Kanzion-Daibosatsu (the eleven-faced Goddess of Mercy) who protects against evils are also well-known.
