An Entry to Elementary and Junior High School
Compulsory education system in Japan has 9 years period consisting of 6 years elementary (age 7 through 12) and 3 years junior high (age 13 through 15) school educations.
The students can proceed to high school, college or university. The school year starts in April and ends next March. A person who has a nationality of foreign country does not have an obligation to enter the Japanese school though, it is possible to enter a municipal school in the city if requested. Please call educational affair section at board of education for further information (760 Hanazakicho; Tel: 20-1581). Bring your Non-Japanese Registration Certificate and your passport at that time.
