Report of Marriage

When you get married to a Japanese, report it to the office in the permanent address area of your spouse, or report it to a municipal office in your resident area. When you are a foreigner and get married to a foreigner, report it to a municipal office in your resident area.
Also, please attach a copy of your family registration, if your country has the family registration system, to the report of marriage. If your country does not have family registration system, attach documents proving that you are unmarried and complying with your own country's law issued by the authorities.
